Moses Jean Rochette [Sedan, France] was
the father of Suzanne Rochette.
Suzanne came to America with her husband, Abraham Michaux II,
and these are some of their descendants in America. Those who are
directly descended from Abraham and Suzanne have Qualified Huguenot
Ancestors and can become members of the National
Huguenot Society
Suzanne Laroche Rochet b. 13 April 1667(Sedan, France)
d. 18 Dec 1744 (Goochland, VA)
m. Abraham Michaux II b. 23 Feb 1672 d.13 May 1717
m. 13 July 1692, French Church, Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands
Suzanne Rochet, was born to Moses Thiery Rochet (b.1615) and Suzanne Rondeau Rochet (b.1617) (who may have been the widow Roneau) in Sedan, Ardennes, France 13 Apr 1667. Suzanne allegedly was nicknamed "Little Nightcap" because of having been plucked from her bed for a nighttime boat escape from France to Holland on Oct 18, 1685.
Abraham Michaux II b 23 Feb 1672, d. 13 May 1717 was born in Sedan, Champagne, France and christened the same day. He was son of Jacob Michaux and Ann Severin (Saurin) (26 Jan 1648/49); Dr. Stanard in his records claims Abraham was from Champagne, France. He was nephew to the Reverend James Saurin, a noted minister of the French Colony Church of Savoy in the Strand, London in 1703. Abraham Michaux II was a member of the French Church in Amsterdam, Jan. 28th, 1691.
Suzanne Rochet was married to Abraham Michaux II on July 13, 1692 at the age of 25, in Old French Church, Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands.
They remained in Holland for some years, and by their combined industry, acquired a sum of money sufficient to move to America. They then embraced an offer made to the Huguenot refugees by King William, of England to settle in the colony of Virginia. Abraham Micheaux, with his wife and 6 children embarked for America with a land grant from the Crown, and landed in Stafford County, Virginia, on the banks of the Potomac River.
In a few years, the Micheaux family moved from Stafford to a settlement of Huguenots on James River, called Manikin Town, and later was registered at that church on the James River in 1707. There they lived in peace and prosperity. Abraham Micheaux and the "Little Night-Cap" reared 12 children, five sons and seven daughters. Six of those were born in Amsterdam, six in Virginia.
Abraham Michaux II was a gauze weaver and Susanne Rochet was a lace maker.
Six children were born of this union before the couple's leaving Amsterdam on May 8, 1701 for America where they settled on the James River in what is now Powhatan County, Virginia. These six children were:

5. *Richard Waters Michaux [b. Feb.18, 1779 - d. 1843]

Note: Mary Mayo Macon was a daughter of Gideon Macon and sister of Martha Macon. Martha married Orlando Jones, and their daughter Frances married Colonel John Dandridge. Their daughter Martha, the widow Custis, married George Washington. Upon reading this, it makes no sense at all, given the fact that George Washington was born in 1732.
There was a daughter born to Richard
and Mary, Elizabeth Venable Michaux.
